The councilor of (), son of the former president, will be honored by Alesp (Legislative Assembly of São Paulo) this Friday (5) with the necklace of honor for legislative merit, the House’s highest decoration.
The necklace is intended for personalities who have worked to contribute to the social, cultural and economic development of São Paulo, according to Alesp’s internal act. Federal deputy Mário Frias (PL-SP) will also be honored with the same honor.
The tributes were proposed by Bolsonaro deputy Paulo Mansur (PL) and will be delivered in a ceremony in the Juscelino Kubitschek plenary, at 7pm.
“Tonight, we will honor Mário Frias and Carlos Bolsonaro for their work, dedication and relevant services provided to Brazil,” said Mansur on Instagram. The decoration comes at a time when, with his father’s arrest, Carlos and his brothers lost the arm wrestling match against their stepmother, Michelle Bolsonaro,.
On October 8 of this year, Mansur mentioned Carlos in the Alesp plenary. At the time, he defended Bolsonaro’s decision to launch the Rio councilor into the Senate for Santa Catarina next year, bypassing federal deputy Carol de Toni and opening one in the state.
“Bolsonaro’s children represent Brazil, not a state. They can be candidates wherever they want, and that state will be happy with their candidacy, because they are not political heirs, they are successors. They deserve it and have already demonstrated to Brazil that they know how to do real politics,” said Mansur.
The deputy who wants to honor someone with the necklace must submit his request for approval by the Alesp Board of Directors, made up of three deputies: president André do Prado (PL), first secretary Maurici (PT) and second secretary Barros Munhoz (PSDB).
Postponed
The Minister of the Environment, (Rede), would also be honored with the necklace of honor for merit by Alesp on Thursday (4), a day earlier, but the ceremony had to be postponed after Marina left this Wednesday (3) and was hospitalized.
Representative Marina Helou (Rede), who requested the tribute, released a note on social media announcing the postponement of the ceremony.
“For health reasons, resulting from an accident, the minister will not be able to attend on the scheduled date. We emphasize that she is well and under medical care, but needs rest for her full recovery. A new date will be defined and announced soon”, announced the state deputy.
