Regarding the seizure of 2,500 irregular items in one of its distribution centers, Mercado Livre reported that it is constantly improving with the aim of getting as close as possible to eliminating the presence of any irregular product on its platform.
The seizure of the goods was part of an operation conducted by the Federal Revenue Service and the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) during Black Friday.
The company claimed that the volume seized is equivalent to 2.03% of the stock in categories subject to Anatel regulations and 0.28% of the total stock of this distribution center.
Mercado Livre stated that it has not yet been formally notified by Anatel about the final inspection report, detailing any irregularities identified by the agency. However, the company reported that it has already shared the data of sellers who had their products detained by inspection, reaffirming its collaborative profile with Anatel.
The group also recalled that it is classified as a “compliant company” by Anatel itself in 2024, with a reliability index of 90%, according to Report No. 90/2024.
In a statement, Mercado Livre reaffirmed its commitment to the security and integrity of the marketplace, through robust measures such as the Brand Protection Program (BPP), the Anti-Piracy Alliance (MACA) and other actions recognized by authorities, including the 2023 National Anti-Piracy Award, granted by the National Council to Combat Piracy (CNCP).
