Thus, the mother did not respect the court order; the disappearance has already been reported to the Public Security Police (PSP).

The hospital started an internal investigation: as happens in other hospitals, all hospitalized children have a security bracelet, which beeps if they pass through the doors (which are blocked).

This Thursday, the president of the Board of Directors of the Gaia/Espinho Local Health Unit, Luís da Cruz Matos, told journalists: “We are going to evaluate everything, we are going to evaluate the bracelet system, we are going to evaluate how it was possible for it to have been removed and we are going to carry out as many tests as we can”.

The hospital management reinforces that the mother could visit the baby. And, during a visit with mother and grandmother, the baby disappeared.

He adds that the baby was removed from her biological family due to lack of living conditions.
