“It’s extremely serious. I don’t even know if it ever happened”, reacted the socialist deputy – who does not point the finger in any direction.

The socialist deputy Eva Cruzeiro had your doctored signature at the meeting yesterday, Wednesday, of the Constitutional Affairs Committee in Parliament; the name appears in the attendance book “Evita Peron” in the space designated for your signature.

Eva Cruzeiro told the Lusa agency that she did not attend this meeting of the Constitutional Affairs Committee, as she is an alternate member of that committee representing the socialist bench.

“They sent me a photograph to check whether that was the signature or not. Obviously it wasn’t. If I I wasn’t thereit couldn’t be. And the Assembly services realized that, in fact, someone signed for me”, reacts Eva, on the radio.

The socialist deputy considers that the situation is “extremely serious” and explains: “It’s serious because imagine that I would be there as if I were present: in the future someone could make, for example, a complaint about there being an undue presence, and I would be harmed and seen as someone who, perhaps, tried to commit fraud – when I, fortunately in this case, had nothing to do with what happened”.

The PS, according to parliamentary sources, raised the case. In turn, the Constitutional Affairs Committee participated with the Parliamentary Transparency and Statute of Deputies Committee.

Eva does not suggest any suspect. But he admits that he is surprised: “In fact, I wish the signature had miraculously appeared there, because I must confess that I never thought that in the space where we are, within the Parliament, the Assembly of the Republic, something similar to this could happen”.

“I can’t even raise suspicions about anyone, because it’s so serious, so serious, so serious that, in my imagination, this wouldn’t even be a possibility. Let alone being here already trying to raise suspicions about someone. I don’t have suspicions about anyone, nor do I want anyone to start making these types of statements, because we’re dealing with something very serious”, he comments.

The PS deputy does not yet know what direction she will take in relation to this issue; but, if he were president of the Assembly of the Republic, he would “act”.

“Because, at first impression, it seems like something very serious to me. I don’t know if I feel this way because it involves me, but I believe I would have the same opinion if it were with someone else. So, in his place, I think I would react. Now, I don’t know what the procedure is in these types of situations, I don’t even know if this has ever happened here in the Assembly. So it may also be premature to be here giving an opinion on what he should do, because I confess that I don’t know what the procedures are in this type of situation”, he concluded.
