The meeting of the , chaired by King Feipe VI and Letizia, approved this Thursday its strategic plan for the period between 2026 and 2029, which involves making the entity a great platform focused on young talent, as explained by the institution itself in a statement. The foundation, which has brought three more companies into the board, intends to remain closely linked with Catalonia, and in particular with Girona, but with the aim of looking towards Latin America. The entity will also celebrate again at Barcelona’s Liceu.
One of the foundation’s main commitments is the so-called Talent Tour, which will host the proclamation of various awards and create connection opportunities between young people and companies. In its fifth edition, it will start in Sant Boi de Llobregat, Viladecans, Gavà and Castelldefels between February 2 and 6, 2026 and then go to Huesca (from February 23 to 27), Alcalá de Henares (from March 23 to 27), Granada (from April 27 to 30) and Murcia (from May 25 to 29).
“After four years of experience, the Princess of Girona Foundation is committed to generating a legacy in each city,” the entity says in a statement. The awards ceremony will take place again at the Liceu in July, as it already did in 2025, and . The Princess of Girona Awards for young talent, with a prize of 20,000 euros, recognize the effort, creativity and dedication of people between 16 and 35 years old. And just like this year, an event with young people is expected to take place the day after the ceremony in the province of Girona.
The strategic plan includes more news for the period until 2029, when the entity will turn 20 years old. Also on the roadmap is the creation of the Princesa de Girona Observatory, which aspires to become a reference for the analysis of issues that affect young people. “Its objective is to be an open repository that collects reports that may be relevant to understand the trends and needs of youth, offering strategic data to, for example, anticipate changes or decision-making,” the foundation reports.
The board has also approved the incorporation of three new members, bringing the total to 110. Specifically, Grifols, NTT Data and Amazon Web Services join.
