On Wednesday night (03/12), after scoring three goals in Santos’ 3-0 victory over Juventude, Neymar preferred not to project whether or not he will renew his contract with Santos.
When asked if the clash with Cruzeiro, on Sunday (07/12), at 4pm (Brasília time), in Vila Belmiro, will be his farewell, the player did not give a definition.
– I don’t know. I really don’t know. First I want to end the season, finish the Brasileirão, and then think calmly. My desire has always been to put Santos first – he declared, in an interview with Amazon Prime.
The striker, currently 31 years old, has a contract with the club until December 31st and only intends to deal with the renewal after the end of the championship.

Is Neymar still injured?
Even dealing with an injury to the meniscus in his left knee, Neymar has performed at his physical limit and has been decisive in the fight against relegation. There are four goals in the two most recent matches, which resulted in victories over Sport and Juventude. With this, Santos reached 44 points and rose to 14th place, distancing itself from Z4.
– I’m very happy with the goals and for being able to help Santos. Without my companions, none of this would be possible. The victory was important. We still have one game, and we need to give everything in Vila – said the star, who also commented on the effort to be on the field.
– I have dedicated myself to the maximum, always taking care of my health and avoiding anything that could harm my career. I have been dealing with pain and injuries for months, even years, and I try to overcome myself to be as close to 100% as possible – he added.
Santos ends the Brasileirão on Sunday, at 4pm (Brasília time), against Cruzeiro, in Vila Belmiro. Due to the large advantage in goal difference compared to Vitória (-8 against -18), a simple draw mathematically guarantees the club in Series A.
How much does Neymar earn in salary?
According to the website UOL, the return of number 10 cost Santos around R$21 million per month during the initial five-month agreement. The total already paid until June was R$105 million, around 25% of the annual budget initially planned for the club. The salary after renewal is not known.
When calculating salaries for the first five months, the fixed salary in the portfolio was R$4.14 million per month, while the majority of the remuneration came from marketing and image use agreements. Neymar received 75% of the revenue from new Santos sponsors, and the club kept 25%. Since his return, Peixe has increased sponsorship revenue by approximately R$66 million, of which R$49.5 million went to NR Sports, the company that manages the player’s career.
