A witness told police that he “saw a man with a shopping cart in the area, acting suspiciously”; victim was not identified
A woman was found dead inside a supermarket cart in the early hours of Tuesday (2) on Rua General Oscar Carvalho, in Vila Formosa, East Zone of the capital of São Paulo. To date, the victim has not been identified.
According to the State Public Security Secretariat, military police were called to respond to the incident.
“At the scene, a witness reported seeing a man with a shopping cart in the region, acting suspiciously. At one point, he abandoned the cart and fled on foot. The witness approached and noticed the body of a woman, calling the Military Police,” said the .
The case was registered as a homicide at the 30th DP (Tatuapé), which requested expertise from the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP), of the State Civil Police. Therefore, it is now being investigated through a police inquiry initiated by the DHPP.
“Expert examinations were requested and other measures are ongoing to clarify the authorship of the crime and all the circumstances of the facts”, added the SSP.
