Zelensky announced the upcoming meeting: the Ukrainian delegation is preparing a new round of negotiations in the USA

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced on Wednesday that following the meeting of American officials with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow the Ukrainian delegation is preparing a new round of negotiations with US President Donald Trump’s envoys in the United States. TASR informs about it according to the report of the DPA agency.

“We are preparing meetings in the United States,” stated the Ukrainian president in his evening video address, saying that he expects news about their organization in the coming days. According to Zelensky, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov and the Chief of the General Staff of the Army Andriy Hnatov should lead the negotiations with Trump’s envoys.

Zelenskyy claims that previous negotiations between the Ukrainian and American delegations in Geneva and Florida “they are progressing quite effectively”. However, according to him, their success depends on “a combination of constructive diplomacy and pressure on the aggressor”.

The envoy of the US president, Steve Witkoff, met with Putin for the sixth time in Moscow on Tuesday. Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner was also present at such a meeting for the first time. After approximately five hours of negotiations, the advisor to the Russian president, Yuri Ushakov, stated that the parties have not yet reached any compromise.
