An 82-year-old pedestrian did not survive a collision with a car on Friday afternoon in Prievidza. The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident, they have started a criminal investigation into the offense of manslaughter. TASR was informed about this by the Trenčín regional police spokesperson Petra Klenková.
“A 60-year-old female driver was driving a Volkswagen Golf passenger car on a local road in Prievidza. For as yet unknown reasons, an 82-year-old pedestrian collided with a pedestrian crossing. The woman suffered injuries from which, unfortunately, she died on the spot“, said Klenková.
According to her, all emergency services intervened on the spot, and an expert from the road transport department was also there. “The police subjected the driver of the car to a breath test, which ended with a negative result,” she added that the exact causes, degree of fault and other circumstances of the traffic accident are the subject of further investigation.
