Coach values debut against Morocco, praises opponents’ level and says the goal is to advance first in Group C
Coach Carlo Ancelotti left the draw for the 2026 World Cup, held this Friday in Washington, with confidence in the Brazilian team’s performance in the first phase. The coach stated that Brazil is prepared to face Morocco, Haiti and Scotland in Group C.
Ancelotti was direct when commenting on what he expects from the team in the initial phase: “We have to win all three games. We have to be confident in our work. The debut is always very important in a competition like this and we will maintain focus in all matches”, he stated.
The team debuts on June 13th against Morocco. The second game will be on June 19th, against Haiti, and Scotland will end Brazil’s participation in the group stage on the 24th.
The coach assessed the opponents as competitive and highlighted the need for consistency: “We have to have a solid team, as the World Cup is a fast competition. The idea is to finish first in the group. Morocco did very well in the last World Cup. Scotland has a very consistent team. We will have good games.”
Alongside the coach, the former five-time captain, Cafu, reinforced confidence in Ancelotti’s command. “The team has a lot of trust in Ancelotti, who is one of the best coaches in the world. We will have a strong group, but with a good chance of qualifying”, said the former full-back.
