The decision was motivated by a request made by the Socialism and Freedom Party (PSOL) bench to prevent payments to parliamentarians
The minister of the Federal Supreme Court (), decided, this Thursday (4), in Brasília, to prohibit the release of parliamentary amendments for deputies (PL-SP) and Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ). Both are in the United States.
The decision was motivated by a request made by the Socialism and Freedom Party (PSOL) bench to prevent payments to parliamentarians, who presented around R$80 million in amendments to the 2026 Budget.
The minister understood that deputies who are abroad irregularly cannot be allowed to submit amendments.
“Admitting that parliamentarians in that condition amend the public budget constitutes a distortion of the due budgetary process, since such prerogative derives directly from active political representation and the regular performance of the legislative function”, he stated.
Outlaw
Sentenced to 16 years in prison in the coup plot, Ramagem is considered a fugitive by the STF and is in Miami.
Eduardo Bolsonaro left the country in February this year and began to encourage actions by the North American government against Brazil, such as tariffs against Brazilian exports and the application of the Magnitsky Law against ministers of the STF and the federal government.
