Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán warns against the escalation of the war. European peace depends on the success of negotiations with Russia

Viktor Orbán talks about the key phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war. He claims that the current negotiations can bring peace or mean the risk of its expansion into Europe.

The next few days will decide whether the Russo-Ukrainian war will close, whether it will spread towards Europe, or whether it will end. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said this on Friday in a regular interview with public radio station Kossuth Rádió.

“We are in a tense moment. Negotiations are underway between the US and Russia, and if they are successful, the flames of war will definitely be extinguished and the people of Hungary will also be able to breathe,” added Orbán.

Possibilities of peace negotiations

According to him, if the will of the Europeans wins, who want the war to continue and for peace to be achieved at the front, then the war can expand more and more and the threat of war will increase. If the Europeans succeed, Hungary’s task will continue to remain on the sidelines, because Budapest does not want to send money to Ukraine and does not want to get involved in the war, the Hungarian Prime Minister emphasized.
