Today, Friday (December 5th), is World Soil Day. The whole week was therefore dominated by land consumption. Minister Norbert Totschnig presented new figures, collected among others by the Federal Environment Agency on behalf of the Spatial Planning Conference (ÖROK). They show that daily land use fell to 6.5 hectares between 2022 and 2025. A good sign, because not so long ago it was three times as much, and in the previous three-year period the average was over ten hectares per day.
