This Thursday (4), it allowed the use of resources from the Urban Mobility Program, including those from parliamentary amendments, to fund public transport by bus and subway.
This permission was a demand from mayors, especially those from large cities, such as São Paulo.
The amendment was presented by federal deputy João Cury (MDB-SP), an ally of mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB). It ended up being rejected by the rapporteur, Gervásio Maia (PSB-PB), but was included again by the Congress plenary, after presenting a highlight.
The program is one of the main federal actions on urban mobility, and has the role of encouraging and coordinating actions at a national level.
