Lioness that attacked and killed young girl returns to her zoo enclosure

A man died after breaking into a lioness’ enclosure in Arruda Câmara Park, known as It killsin João Pessoa (PB), on Sunday (30). The incident, which lasted approximately two minutes, resulted in a tragedy that shook zoo staff and visitors.

The park shared, this Thursday (4), that the lioness returned to her place at the zoo. “Leona is slowly returning to her enclosure,” the zoo wrote on its social media profile.

Since the attack, Leona has demonstrated a high level of stress and shock after the incident, which caused a delay in his reappointment.

In a video published online, Marília, from the park’s identity behavior sector, recounted the “positive” updates in the lioness’ behavior.

“Eshe has shown natural behaviors, which she has always had, and she has experienced human interaction”, stated Marília.

The employee also explained that the entire reintroduction process to Leona’s enclosure will be monitored by her and the Bica park team.
