The international scientific photography award is open for submissions until February 15, 2026.
The first edition offers US$20,000 (around R$106,000) to the best essay and is aimed at individual photographers or collectives from developing countries. The award is a partnership between ), linked to , (the Organization’s agency).
The first edition, “Glaciers and Deserts”, invites photographers to record the impacts of climate change — from the melting of glaciers to the expansion of deserts — and to highlight the resilience and adaptation of ecosystems and communities. The competition will select an essay with ten original images.
In case of collective authorship, the prize value will be delivered to a representative appointed by the participants.
Works generated or manipulated using tools will not be accepted.
