Police arrest PM suspected of killing grandnephew in Itaguaí (RJ)

Civil police officers from the DHBF (Baixada Fluminense Homicide Police Station) arrested, this Friday (5), Kaik dos Santos Azevedo. Corporal Alexandre Severino Rodrigues dos Santos, assigned to the 2nd BPM (Botafogo), was located in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro.

According to investigations, the crime took place in August this year, when the suspect allegedly invaded the victim’s workplace, in Itaguaí, in the metropolitan region, and fired five shots. Kaik did not survive the injuries.

Information collected by the agents indicates that the episode occurred after a family disagreement, related to the discovery that the uncle would have tried to start a relationship with the young man’s ex-partner.

DHBF reported that the suspect was found after monitoring actions and that the investigations continue to identify and find a second person involved in the case.

In a note, the PM announced that the corporation’s General Inspectorate was notified about the arrest of a military police officer assigned to the 2nd BPM (Botafogo). The agent will be taken to the corporation’s Prison Unit, in Niterói. The corporation stated that it adopts disciplinary measures in cases where there is evidence of misconduct or crimes on the part of its members.

A CNN Brazil was unable to locate the police officer’s defense. Space remains open.
