- The man’s remains were discovered in May 2024 near Denver.
- It is estimated that the remains have been in place since 2022.
The remains, which were found last year in a remote area in the US state of Colorado, may belong to a man originally from Slovakia. Recent findings suggest this. Authorities have now asked the public for help in identifying him, TASR reports, according to CBS News.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said authorities discovered a dead man on May 28, 2024, in a camping area outside the town of Bailey, near Denver. The expert estimated that his remains had been there since 2022 or 2023.
A recent analysis of the origin shows that the man has Slovak DNA. Therefore, the CBI believes he may have relatives in Omaha, Nebraska, Pueblo, Colorado, Cedar Rapis, Iowa. These are communities with a large population from Eastern Europe, where the unknown man could have come from.
An expert in facial reconstruction was also called in to help identify the remains, who based on the man’s skull created a sculpture of his possible appearance. The CBI estimates that he was 30 to 60 years old and 180 to 203 centimeters tall. “We’re looking for any information. Does anyone know who this person could be? The public’s help is invaluable,” said Park County Medical Examiner David Kintz.
