The head of diplomacyKaja Kallas, stated this Saturday (6) that the continue to be “Europe’s greatest ally”, despite the new national security strategy announced by Washington.
“Of course, there are many criticisms, but I think some are also true,” Kallas said at the Doha Forum, a diplomatic conference held annually in the capital of . The statement is a response to the publication, on Friday, of a document that redefines Washington’s national security strategy.
The text anticipates the “disappearance of civilization” in Europe and defends the fight against “mass migrations”, as well as the restoration of “the predominance of the United States in Latin America”.
In the document, Washington harshly criticizes European allies and points out that the US will support those who oppose the values promoted by the EU, especially on the migration issue.
“The United States remains our greatest ally (…) We don’t always agree on different topics, but I think the general principle is still there. We are the greatest allies and we must remain united,” declared Kallas.
