Don’t know what to bake for Saturday? Do it layered tiramisu cake. These are two types of cake containing sponge cakes soaked in coffee and topped with whipped cream. Of course, there must be plenty of cocoa. This dessert will taste great with a cup of your favorite coffee or tea. You can prepare them for guests’ visit on Saturday or Sundaybut it will also work well for the upcoming holidays.
Before you start baking, prepare the appropriate form. We recommend a baking tray dimensions 20 × 200 cm.
Ingredients for the chocolate cake:
- 100 g of dark chocolate,
- 70 g of butter,
- 50 g sugar,
- 50 g of wheat flour,
- 1 egg, size L or XL,
- 10 g cocoa powder,
- ¼ teaspoon of salt.
Ingredients for light cake:
- 2 eggs, size L or XL,
- 60 g sugar,
- 60 g of wheat flour,
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Additionally:
- 100 g of sponge cakes,
- 200 ml of strong coffee,
- 1 tablespoon of coffee liqueur.
Ingredients for the cream:
- 500 ml whipping cream 36%,
- 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar,
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract,
- 2 teaspoons of gelatin,
- 50 ml of hot water.
Additionally:
Prepare the chocolate cake. Melt the chocolate and butter together in a pot and mix. Beat the egg with sugar and salt. Pour in the chocolate mass and mix, then add flour and cocoa, stirring briefly. Pour the mixture into a 20×20 cm baking tin lined with baking paper.
Prepare the light dough. Beat the eggs and sugar until fluffy and light, for about 5-7 minutes. Add the vanilla and then gradually the sifted flour, mixing gently with a spatula. Pour half of the dough onto the chocolate cake.
Prepare the sponge cakes. Mix coffee with alcohol. Take one sponge cake at a time and quickly dip each one in the mixture and place them on top of the light cake. Once the top is completely covered, pour in the other half of the light batter, covering the ladyfingers. Put the cake in the oven preheated to 170 degrees Celsius and bake it for 35-40 minutes. Remove and cool.
Prepare the cream. Dissolve gelatin in hot water and set aside to swell for 5-10 minutes. Whip the cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff. Pour in the cooled gelatin and mix gently.
Transfer the cream to a pastry bag and squeeze dollops of whipped cream on top of the cake. Sprinkle everything with cocoa. Tiramisu cake put in the fridge for at least 3-4 hours. Serve cold.
