The minister, from the Attorney General’s Office, met this Thursday (4) in Brasília with judges from the Labor Court and leaders of trade unions, as part of his efforts to be nominated for a position as minister by President Lula.
Participating in the conversation were, among others, minister Luiz Philippe Vieira de Mello Filho, president of the TST (Superior Labor Court), and CUT, Sérgio Nobre.
According to reports, Messias reaffirmed his commitment to the social and labor protection system provided for in the Constitution.
Magistrates and trade unionists praised Messias for his work in favor of labor and trade union rights at the helm. They also promised to support its approval for the STF.
The nod to the world of work comes two days after a body that has aligned itself with conservative agendas on issues such as abortion and trans rights.
