Milano, the first son of Flamengo’s number 10, Arrascaeta, was born this Saturday (6), moments before Flamengo’s departure for Qatar, where they will compete in the Intercontinental. The name, somewhat unusual in Brazil, caught attention.

What does Milano mean?

Milano is a name of geographic origin, derived from the Latin Mediolanum, which means “in the middle of the plain”, referring to its location on the plain of the River Po, in Italy.

It can be used as a first name or surname, evoking associations with fashion, culture and the Italian city itself, being the origin of the famous football teams Milan and Inter Milan.

Arrascaeta had already said that Milano’s birth was scheduled for this Friday (05). The number 10 explained that it was necessary to bring forward the birth of his wife, Camila Bastiani, as he is scheduled to travel to Qatar, where he will follow the Intercontinental dispute.
