Federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) celebrated the announcement of the pre-candidacy for the Presidency of his brother, senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ). According to Eduardo, who has been in the United States since the beginning of the year to promote American sanctions against Brazil, Flávio “will raise the flag of the ideals” of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
“It is with deep admiration, joy and immense pride that I receive the news of my brother Flávio Bolsonaro’s candidacy”, said Eduardo, at X. “My brother will raise the flag of our father’s ideals. He will be the face of hope in the midst of fear; of freedom in the midst of oppression. He will represent all those who refuse to kneel in the face of tyranny”, he added.
Eduardo also stated that Flávio could have chosen the path of “living his life in peace”, but chose to accept the challenge of running for President to face what the self-exiled parliamentarian calls a “regime of exception”.

“There are moments in history when courage stops being an abstract virtue and becomes an urgent need and this is one of those moments. Facing the current exceptional regime requires a strength of spirit that few have. My brother could, in all fairness, choose the simplest path: live his life in peace, away from the attacks, injustices and dangers of facing those who crush ordinary and innocent citizens in our country. But he didn’t,” said Eduardo.
Still according to Eduardo, Flávio chose to run for Planalto knowing the “size of the pain that this would bring”. In the post, the parliamentarian also made a request for unity among right-wing politicians around the name of the senator from Rio de Janeiro.
“I appeal to everyone who loves freedom and the values that shaped our civilization: let us leave our differences behind. This is not the time for petty disputes. It is time to protect what no people can lose. No personal interest can override the destiny of a nation”, declared the deputy.
As shown by Estadão/Broadcast, Flávio told the PL and the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), that his pre-candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic was accepted by his father, former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The information was anticipated by the portal Metropolises.
