Organized Crime CPI hears Lewandowski on Tuesday

The Minister of Justice and Public Security will share his experience in office on combating criminal organizations

The Minister of Justice and Public Security, will be heard at the meeting of the scheduled for Tuesday (9), at 9am. He must share his experience in the position on confronting criminal organizations.

The hearing responds to a request (REQ 2/2025 – CPICRIME) from the collegiate rapporteur, senator Alessandro Vieira (MDB-SE).

In the request, Alessandro also invites the Minister of Defense, José Mucio Monteiro Filho, the general director of Andrei Rodrigues, and the director of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin), Luiz Fernando Corrêa. There is no confirmation of appearance dates yet.

Alessandro considers that the experience of these authorities is of fundamental importance for developing the diagnosis of the threat of organized crime and public policies in the sector.

“Effectively confronting this criminal type is not the task of a single body, but requires coordinated, synergistic and robust action from multiple spheres of the Executive Branch, ranging from strategic intelligence to qualified repression and control of the prison system”, he adds.
