Slovak scouts will not miss this year either: They will once again bring the light of Bethlehem to Slovakia

On Saturday, the Slovak scouts will once again bring the light of Bethlehem to Slovakia. In the coming weeks, it will be distributed throughout the country, mainly via train services. The light will once again bring a message of peace, tranquility and hope to the pre-Christmas season. TASR was informed about this by Mária Dirgová from Slovak Scouting.

Slovak scouts will bring the Bethlehem light from Austria. On Sunday (12/7) morning, he will be handed over to Polish scouts, and a week later, Ukrainian scouts will receive him at a ceremony in Uzhgorod, Ukraine. They will start distributing it throughout Slovakia during the pre-Christmas weekend on Saturday, December 20.

Scout crews will distribute the light from early in the morning by trains and will deliver it to more than 300 villages. They will bring the light to hospitals, asylums, social and nursing care homes, light it for believers at pre-Christmas holy masses and devotions, deliver it directly to people’s homes and visit Lomnický štít. Scouts will spread the Light until Christmas Day.

“We will spread the light of hope all over Slovakia for the thirty-sixth time as a symbol of peace, love and peace. Every blaze that we bring has great meaning for people – it brings them a sense of belonging and hope. We are happy to watch how the Bethlehem light becomes part of the pre-Christmas atmosphere in all corners of Slovakia.”

“Symbolically, we will hand it over in the easternmost, westernmost, northernmost, and southernmost village to make it clear that the light of Bethlehem will reach all people in Slovakia.” said Denisa Podskubová, coordinator of Bethlehem Light in Slovakia. This year too, the scouts are preparing an interactive map with information on where and when the Bethlehem light will be available in Slovakia. A map with a list is available on the website www.betlehemskesvetlo.sk.
