Tarcísio visited Bolsonaro under house arrest with tension over candidacy

Despite the One thing is clear at Palácio dos Bandeirantes: I would never run on a ticket against the Bolsonaro name.

There are those who say that Centrão leaders, who have a strong preference for the name of the governor of São Paulo, will still want to try to convince him of a national seam. The chiefs’ view is that Tarcísio de Freitas is the strongest name against President Lula in 2026, as he has good approval, less rejection and good entry into important sectors, such as finance and agriculture.

But the chances are practically zero. Despite having recently said, several times, that he would like to be part of the “construction of a country project” for 2026, citing the names of several right-wing and center-right governors, the internal understanding is that Tarcísio would never disagree with the Bolsonaro family.

This is why he remained silent in the face of various criticisms over time from the Bolsonaro brothers, especially federal deputy Eduardo and councilman Carlos. It is with Senator Flávio, in fact, that he maintains the best dialogue.

Tarcísio does not hide, behind the scenes or publicly, his relationship of friendship and gratitude with Bolsonaro. He often attributes his arrival at Bandeirantes to a request and impulse from Bolsonaro.

Therefore, another name emerges again behind the scenes: that of the governor of Paraná, Ratinho Jr. The movement is already old . Centrão leaders already envision a separation from the Bolsonarist right. The reading is that Ratinho, in addition to being part of a strong party – owned by Gilberto Kassab – has a good rating in polls, and that he would have “much” more strength than other names on the right, such as Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil) or Romeu Zema (Novo). He would also have a good entry into the Northeast, as he is the son of Carlos Massa, the Ratinho.

Furthermore, they believe that there is room for what has been called “pacification” in the country and that polarization has lost ground in the Brazilian electorate.
