The political domino effect that plunged Neunkirchen into chaos

The local council is unable to act and the meeting must be canceled. Neunkirchen has no mayor. Marcus Berlosnig runs the city’s business as deputy mayor. Now, after the latest political escalation on Monday evening, he has the final say. If there are no more requests to speak, “I’ll still use the opportunity now because I might never get it again.” Berlosnig reaches for the silver-colored bell on the table in front of him and raises it: He will now “activate the power,” “herald in Advent and conclude the meeting.” The deputy mayor grins. He stands up and rings the bell of the broken city.
