What is special about the profession of architects is that they are still considered “young” in their mid-40s. And rightly so, because in this strenuous profession with its lengthy design and construction processes, it takes time to get a career off the ground. The perfect example of this was the American-Canadian architect Frank Gehry, as he was already approaching 60 when his global breakthrough was announced. It was all the more pleasing for him that he still had plenty of time to build on and enjoy this fame. He died on Friday at the ripe old age of 96 in his home in Santa Monica, the New York Times reported, citing an employee.
