Contacts for a second day in a row between officials and the US side are scheduled to take place later today in Florida, as part of discussions on their plan to end the conflict with , as a representative of the Ukrainian presidency told AFP.
Oleksandr Bevzh, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, confirmed that a new meeting is imminent, noting that Kiev’s chief negotiator, Rustem Umerov, is already in Florida. A similar meeting in the presence of Jared Kushner was also held yesterday, but without any leaks or statements regarding whether it took place or what was discussed.
Witkov will inform Umerov
According to a source who spoke to Reuters, US envoy Steve Witkoff will brief Umerov on his recent talks in Moscow with President Vladimir Putin. The same source emphasized that today’s meeting is not expected to focus exclusively on the US peace plan.
The advisor to the Ukrainian presidency, Mykhailo Podoliak, commented on Platform X that, despite the fact that much of the diplomacy is taking place away from the public eye, “the positions are absolutely clear.” Ukraine, he added, seeks an end to the war and remains open to negotiations.

Since the presentation of the Trump plan about three weeks ago, several meetings have already taken place between the American and Ukrainian delegations in Geneva and Florida, with the aim of making changes to the text in favor of Kiev.
On the battlefield, the Russian army announced that it is advancing further on the eastern front and has captured Bezimene district in Donetsk, where the heaviest fighting continues.
At the same time, the Ukrainian air force reported that during the night Russia launched 137 drones against Ukrainian targets, of which 80 were intercepted.
