The bankruptcy of the Glam agency left several famous people in the lurch, with total debts exceeding one million euros, including Ana Guiomar, Diana Chaves and Sofia Ribeiro. Several celebrities are filing lawsuits.
The bankruptcy of celebrity agency Glam, managed by brothers Beatriz and Luís Lemos, is being the target of a wave of lawsuits from public figures who lost large amounts of money. The company was declared insolvent in August, leaving a liabilities exceeding one million euros and a trail of accusations of mismanagement and misuse of funds.
According to the report of the judicial administrator responsible for the insolvency process consulted by , Glam accumulated significant debts with several of its agents. Ana Guiomar is the most injured celebritywith an amount to be received of 313 thousand euros. Diana Chaves remains on the list, with 219 thousand euros missing, while Rui Unas claims 207 thousand euros. Sofia Ribeiro, also affected, is awaiting payment of 68 thousand euros, and model Patrícia Bull is fighting to recover 20 thousand euros.
The court document points to a “culpable qualification” of insolvency, describing practices that indicate harmful management. The administrator concludes that the Lemos brothers removed “Large sums of money for your personal benefit” and ignored the company’s critical financial reality. Glam also did not make payments to agents as soon as it received money from end customers, as would be normal practice.
The opinion reinforces that, if the accounting had accurately reflected the amounts owed, managers would have realized long ago that the company was in an unsustainable situation and avoided decisions such as the creation of new companies and the rental of vehicles. Such decisions were only taken because there was “a lot of money”which, however, did not belong to the agency, but rather to its representatives.
With several celebrities already filing criminal complaints and legal proceedings, the Glam case promises to drag on in the courts.
