Flavio Bolsonaro and Nikolas Ferreira associate electoral choice with amnesty project

Jair Bolsonaro’s choice for his son, Senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), to be the representative of the right in the 2026 presidential elections, is part of the strategy of trying to approve an amnesty project in Congress that includes the former president. The strategy was confirmed on social media by the pre-candidate himself and by one of the family’s main supporters, federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG).

“The decision was made yesterday [sexta-feira]today I start negotiations! The first gesture I ask of all political leaders who say they are anti-Lula is to approve the amnesty this year! I hope I’m not being radical by wanting amnesty for innocent people. We only have two weeks, let’s unite the right!”, wrote the senator in X.

On the same social network, Nikolas Ferreira argued that “some only look at the election” when they analyze the choice, but that “whoever feels Brazil knows that there is something bigger at stake”.

“This decision carries an urgent call for national pacification. The country can no longer bear living divided, families destroyed, innocent people behind bars while politics becomes a stage for persecution. May this choice help open the way for amnesty and for unjustly imprisoned Brazilians to return home. Today, more than ever we are talking about freeing those who should never have lost their freedom”, wrote the deputy.

“My brother Flavio is a reference, an honorable man, who knows how to do politics like few others and is already giving the system nightmares. (…). The right is alive, Bolsonarism is more alive than ever”, he stated in a video.
