Military officials in Benin announce “removal” of the president


Porto-Novo – In Benin, a group of military officials announced the removal of President Patrice Talon. The military said on state television on Sunday that Talon had been “removed from the office of president of the republic.” The French embassy in the West African country said that shots were reportedly heard near the head of state’s official residence.
