In Santa Maria da Feira, dozens of volunteers mobilized this morning in an attempt to find an elderly woman who has been missing since November 26th. The 84-year-old woman left the Feira hospital emergency department that day without anyone noticing.
The granddaughter explains to the volunteers her grandmother’s capabilities before the group splits up to begin the search. The 84-year-old woman with memory lapses and disorientation left Santa Maria da Feira Hospital while waiting to be observed, without anyone noticing. It was the second case in this unit in the space of two years.
On November 26th, Lígia Oliveira left the emergency room alone at 1:15 pm. Two hours later, the elderly woman was filmed by the video surveillance system in a large parking lot a short distance from Hospital São Sebastião.
