The trial, in the Federal Supreme Court (STF) of Brazil, of those responsible for preparing the draft of the coup d’état, in a process that already led to the conviction of former President Jair Bolsonaro, begins on Tuesday.
According to the Public Ministry, the accused are also responsible for monitoring the “proposed violent neutralization of authorities”, such as the Brazilian President, Lula da Silva, and judge Alexandre de Moraes.
In addition, they were also involved in coordination, within the Federal Highway Police (PRF), “to make it difficult for voters in the Northeast Region to vote” during the second round of presidential elections in October 2022, in a region popularly known for voting massively for Lula da Silva.

The same crimes that, on September 11, led to the conviction of Jair Bolsonaro, who was still considered the leader of the criminal organization.
According to the STF, “24 defendants have already been tried and convicted due to the attempted coup: eight from Nucleus 1, formed by former President Jair Bolsonaro and seven other former members of the Government, seven from Nucleus 4 and nine from Nucleus 3”.
