Minister of the STF went to see the final between Palmeiras and Flamengo in businessman Luiz Oswaldo Pastore’s jet, says O Globo columnist; lawyer defending the bank’s former compliance director, was on the flight
The minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Dias Toffoli, from Palmeiras, traveled to Lima last week to watch the final of the Copa Libertadores da América in a private jet owned by businessman Luiz Oswaldo Pastore, reported the column by journalist Lauro Jardim, from The Globe. Also on the flight was a lawyer for one of the directors of Banco Master, arrested by the Federal Police.
The trip, on businessman Luiz Oswaldo Pastore’s jet, took place days before the minister imposed maximum secrecy on the case and decided that all relevant legal measures would be under the care of the STF, and no longer by the Federal Court in Brasília.

The lawyer who was on the flight is Augusto Arruda Botelho, former national secretary of Justice in the Lula government. He defends Luiz Antonio Bull, former Compliance director at Master, arrested in the same operation that detained banker Daniel Vorcaro.
Another famous Palmeiras native who took advantage of the flight was former deputy Aldo Rebello, curiously a great critic of the STF’s actions, whom he has already accused of being a parallel power in Brazil.
