Upon arrival, the Civil Guard agents noticed that one of the people had not managed to leave the house. Firefighters worked to put out the fire, which originated in the lower part of the building and burned the wooden porch and various Christmas decorations, so it is being considered whether a short circuit in the decorations could have caused the fire.
Finally, health personnel confirmed the death of a person, located in one of the rooms. The deceased is a 51-year-old woman, Urxencias Sanitarias de Galicia-061 has subsequently reported. Five other people – a 66-year-old man, three women aged 27, 39 and 67, and a minor – were taken to the Lucus Augusti Hospital in Lugo affected by smoke inhalation.
