Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) admitted this Sunday (7) that there is a possibility of “not going all the way” with his pre-candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic and that there is a price for this negotiation to take place this week. Speaking to journalists this Sunday, after a service at the Community of Nations, in Brasília, the son “01” of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) said he hoped that the amnesty would be discussed in the coming days.
“There’s a possibility that I won’t go all the way. I have a price for that. I’ll negotiate. I have a price for me to go all the way. But I’ll only tell you tomorrow”, said Flávio. “We will talk tomorrow with Valdemar (Costa Neto, from PL), with (Antônio, from União) Rueda, with Ciro Nogueira (PP), Rogério Marinho (PL-RN), who is our leader and we will also invite Marcos Pereira (Republicanos) at this first moment”, he said.
Amnesty is the focus
Asked what the “price” would be for eventually withdrawing his candidacy, he suggested that the amnesty agenda is being negotiated. “I hope that we will discuss amnesty this week. I hope that the presidents of the Chamber and Senate will fulfill what they promised us, when they were still candidates, that they would promote amnesty, and let the ‘dick sing’ in the vote in the plenary”, he said.

Asked objectively if the amnesty is the price of his candidacy, Flávio replied: “It’s hot, it’s hot. It’s starting to get hot.” Asked again at another time about the amnesty being the price, he said: “It’s not just that, no, but it’s going well.”
Loyalty to Brazil
When asked about his strategy to attract center and center-right parties, he replied that the plan is simple. He wants to bring together those who believe that he will be the winner and who defend the best project for the country. According to Flávio, this is the moment for each leader to show who is really on his side and “demonstrate loyalty to Brazil”.
The senator also said that the eventual candidate for vice president on his ticket will be defined “up front”. Flávio highlighted that the time is for negotiations and consolidating the project, talking to people within politics.
Flávio Bolsonaro will meet his father on Tuesday
The senator also detailed that the decision to launch his pre-candidacy was not only taken last Friday (5). According to him, conversations with former president Bolsonaro, detained at the Federal Police Superintendence in Brasília since November 22, had been taking place for a long time, and his father had already asked on other occasions whether he would be willing to put his name in the dispute, aware of the difficulties.
Flávio said that he always responded that everything was “in God’s hands”. And that Bolsonaro understood that it was the right time after the meeting they had and after consulting other people. Therefore, the decision was formalized the previous week. He will meet his father next Tuesday (9).
“First, show him how, by putting my name forward to run for the Presidency of the Republic with his acquiescence, I will explain that this was what our militancy, in the first place, was waiting for,” said Flávio. “Everyone had their heads down, and this boosted everyone’s morale, rekindling a flame that had been extinguished.”

having been designated by his father to run for President of the Republic in 2026. “It is with great responsibility that I confirm the decision of Brazil’s greatest political and moral leader, Jair Messias Bolsonaro, to give me the mission of continuing our nation project,” he wrote on the social network X.
Bolsonaro has been under house arrest since August 4th. He was sentenced by the Federal Supreme Court (STF), on September 12, to 27 years and three months in prison, as part of the investigation into the coup plot. The Court ruled that the sentence was final and the former president is already serving his final sentence. His practices included five crimes, including attempted coup d’état and violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law.
