The senator (-RJ) stated in an interview with TV Record that he will only give up his candidacy for President if former president Jair “Bolsonaro is free, at the polls”, according to the R7 portal, part of the broadcaster’s group.
Earlier, the parliamentarian had stated that he could give up the race for Planalto, but that, to do so,
“Look, there’s a possibility that I won’t go all the way. I have a price for that. I’ll negotiate. I have a price for not going all the way,” said the eldest son of the former president (PL) after participating in an evangelical service in Brasília.
To Record, Flávio declared that the “price is justice”.
“And it’s not just justice with me, it’s justice with almost 60 million Brazilians who were kidnapped, are in captivity, at this moment, together with President Jair Messias Bolsonaro. So, obviously there is no going back. My pre-candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic is very conscious”, he stated, according to the report.
Asked whether the amnesty for his father and others convicted of coup acts would be enough to stop his pre-candidacy, according to R7, he replied: “there has to be Bolsonaro at the polls”.
“The only way this [desistência] What happens is if Bolsonaro is free, at the polls, walking with his grandchildren, Eduardo Bolsonaro’s children, through the streets throughout Brazil. That’s my price.”
The senator also said that his father had already chosen his name four times.
“I was actually the one holding it back all this time. I said: ‘Dad, you have to be convinced of what you’re doing’. He said he was convinced. The work I did was talk to as many people as I could before this became public. It was the way it had to be,” he declared, according to the portal.
