Tarcísio was transparent and said that “we are together”, says Flávio

The senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) said, this Sunday (7), that the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), it was “transparent” and that he had declared that the two “they would be together” after the announcement of his pre-candidacy for the Planalto Palace.

“Perhaps it will be one of the main roles in the 2026 election. Tarcísio is a fundamental cog in this gear. I was in contact with him, he was the first person I spoke to before I started telling other people what the government’s decision had been. [ex-]President Bolsonaro”, said Flávio during an interview with Record’s “Domingo Espetacular”.

“And, with me, he was absolutely transparent, direct: ‘You can tell me, we’re together’. I’m not going to ask Tarcísio to speak out publicly, because he has already said on several occasions that his objective is to be a candidate for re-election to the government of São Paulo”, he continued.

Last Friday (5), Flávio announced that his father, the former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), had chosen him to run for President. Today, he stated that “there is no test balloon” on the issue.

“The launch of my name comes to rescue that shine, to warm Brazilians’ hearts again, for them to see that they have hope and that I’m giving in and that there’s no going back. I’m only going to stop on the day of victory”, quoted Flávio.

According to the senator, .

“My pre-candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic is very conscious. It is to represent a large part of the Brazilian population that no longer accepts this enormous amount of abuse. These are people, just like President Bolsonaro, who are unable to see their families, are outside the country and the only way for this to happen is if Bolsonaro is free, at the polls, walking with his grandchildren, Eduardo Bolsonaro’s children, through the streets of Brazil. That is my price”, he explained.

The former chief executive is imprisoned in Superintendency of the PF (Federal Police) since the end of November, first in a preventive manner, and then began to comply with the sentence of 27 years and three months for leading an attempted coup d’état after the 2022 elections. He is ineligible based on the Clean Record Law.
