On Monday, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic confirmed for TASR that on the Spanish island Two Slovak citizens died in Tenerife. One other was injured.
The representative office of the Ministry in Madrid is in contact with the family of the victims and is providing the necessary consular assistance and cooperation. Due to the protection of personal data and the absence of the consent of the persons concerned, the Ministry of Education and Culture has not yet provided further information.
The accident happened on the cliffs of Los Gigantes in the Santiago del Teide area on the west coast of Tenerife, where a huge wave swept through, authorities in the Canary Islands announced on Sunday.
