According to “ESPN”, Real’s president, Florentino Pérez, met with members of the Madrid board after the defeat to Celta, considered worrying, even more so on the eve of a duel against Manchester City, in the Champions League.
Some sources interviewed by ESPN also highlight that the players’ performance is below expectations. Even so, the Real Madrid board is already evaluating options to replace Xabi Alonso if the scenario does not evolve and the team ends up defeated by Manchester City.

Who can replace Xabi Alonso?
Zidane Zidane appear as the strongest names to take command if Alonso leaves office. Zidane continues free on the market since his last spell at Real Madrid, while Arbeloa currently manages Castilla. Still, the possibility of unexpected alternatives is not ruled out.
As for the internal environment, one of the main areas of concern at the club, the board believes that there are flaws in the management of the squad. Vinicius Júnior’s renewal, for example, is momentarily blocked. Furthermore, there is growing concern about the drop in performance of players like Jude Bellingham and Fede Valverde.
