Despite the quick arrival of an ambulance, paramedics were unable to revive the child and he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
In the case of the death of a one-year-old child, the police have launched an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident, including whether there were any medical or procedural errors.
“It is an extremely painful tragedy. The sudden loss of such a small child completely disarms and marks a person. In this unimaginably difficult moment, we stand by the grieving family and express our support to the nursery staff and to all the families in Brucoverde,” noted the mayor of Parma, Michele Guerra.
