The history of Corinthians futsal reflects the evolution of the sport in Brazil. From a state force in the 1970s to a protagonist in the National Futsal League (LNF) in the 21st century, the black and white team has accumulated relevant achievements that place it among the main forces in the sport in South America.

The club’s presence on the national scene was initially marked by winning the Brazilian Club Cup in 1974. In that edition, Corinthians beat Grajaú Country (RJ) to lift the most important trophy in the country at the time. The feat consolidated the team’s dominance, which already exercised hegemony on the state scene, winning the metropolitan championships in 1971, 1972 and 1973.

After the success of 1974, the club went through a period of 36 years without elite national titles, although it maintained its competitiveness at the state level, winning the Campeonato Paulista in 1995 and, later, in 2009.

The return to the top of the national podium occurred in 2010. Under the command of coach PC de Oliveira, the team won the Brazil Cup played in Jaraguá do Sul (SC). In the final, Corinthians defeated Associação Carlos Barbosa de Futsal (ACBF) by a score of 4 to 3, ending the long hiatus of national victories.

The following decade marked the consolidation of the club’s futsal project, culminating in the unprecedented achievement of the National Futsal League (LNF) in 2016. After eliminating Assoeva in the semi-final, the team faced Magnus Futsal (Sorocaba) in the final. In the decisive game, held at Ginásio Wlamir Marques, Corinthians won 5-2, highlighting the collective performance that guaranteed the first league title for Parque São Jorge.

After the 2016 title, Corinthians enjoyed success in short-term knockout tournaments. The club won the Brazilian Cup in two consecutive editions:

  • 2018: Victory over Joinville (SC) in the final, with a favorable aggregate score after a 3-0 victory in the second leg.

  • 2019: Title over Horizonte (CE), with a 7-0 rout in the decisive match.

These achievements qualified the team to compete in the Brazilian Super Cupa tournament that defines the Brazilian representative in the Libertadores. Corinthians won the competition on three consecutive occasions: 2019 (against Marreco), 2020 (contra or Pato Futsal) e 2021 (against Magnus).

The most recent title of great national expression occurred in LNF 2022. Ranked 10th in the first phase, the team advanced in the playoffs until the final against Atlântico de Erechim (RS). In the return game, played in Rio Grande do Sul, Corinthians won 5-1, securing their second national league championship.
