McDonald’s restaurants in Évora, Beja and Elvas awarded five scholarships to employees, as part of the ‘UP’ project – McDonald’s National Scholarship Program, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to training, education and development of its teams.
According to the brand, these bags represent “its commitment to education and the personal and professional development of its teams”.
The associated investment, which “exceeds 5 thousand euros in the four restaurants (Évora Drive, Évora Plaza, Beja and Elvas)”, aims to financially support young employees who attend Higher Education, reflecting, according to McDonald’s, “franchisee Ricardo Sá Nuno’s continued commitment to the growth and valorization of internal talent”.
The franchise organization highlights that “more than half of the 225 employees are under 25 years old” and highlights the importance of encouraging these young people to complete their studies, contributing to the construction of a more solid professional path. It is for this purpose that “5 scholarships were awarded to McDonald’s employees in the region within the scope of this Program”.
Currently in its 6th edition, the national scholarship program awards “scholarships of 1,000 euros per academic year”, with the aim of “encouraging academic training, promoting the personal and professional development of McDonald’s teams across the country”.
Since 2020, it has annually awarded “250 scholarships – at least one per restaurant – nationally, for a total investment of around 1 million and 400 thousand euros”, reinforcing the scope and continuity of this program.
