InCor (Instituto do Coração do Hospital das Clínicas) in São Paulo will receive R$330,000 in parliamentary amendments to study the effect of medicine on patients with heart failure and who require palliative care.
The amendments are from state deputies () and Caio França (), who will also allocate public resources to two city halls and three federal universities for research and treatment programs related to cannabis.
In total, eight projects were selected in a notice in which initiatives focused on the substance were presented. The sums of the two deputies, combined, reach R$1.25 million.
Pereira Barreto City Hall (635 km from the capital) will receive R$100,000 to implement a protocol that provides for the supply and monitoring of cannabis-based therapies in the public health network.
In the city of Peruíbe (140 km from the capital), the budget, also worth R$100,000, will be used to train professionals and provide access to cannabis treatment for the local population.
UFSCar (Federal University of São Carlos) and the Ilha Solteira and Botucatu units of Unesp (Paulista State University) will also receive amendments.
