Linz – The trial on Friday against Linz’s former mayor Klaus Luger (SPÖ) on charges of infidelity in the wake of the Brucknerhaus affair has been canceled indefinitely. As a court spokesman announced on Tuesday afternoon, the single judge had sent a diversion offer from the defense in advance of the hearing. If Luger pays 20,000 euros by December 24th, the proceedings will be discontinued. The public prosecutor’s office has already rejected the diversion, the offer remains valid. (APA, December 9, 2025)
