“He will not leave the police station until this temporary period is released. The arrest notice has already been made in the act and, in any case, he will undergo a custody hearing tomorrow”, he stated.
The individual and another criminal — who is on the run and whose name has not been released — had already been identified by authorities through system cameras. Smart Sample.
In one of the recordings, it is possible to see the men taking objects out of a car, in broad daylight, on Rua João Adolfo, in the Consolação region.
After removing the works from the vehicle, the suspects go down the street, and one of them leaves some paintings leaning against a wall and runs away. The other, carrying some leaves, runs in another direction.
In addition to the arrest of the first suspect, the vehicle used in the escape was located, seized and sent for technical examination. Interpol was also contacted by São Paulo City Hall in an attempt to prevent the pieces from being sent abroad.
The robbery took place on Sunday morning (7) at the Mário de Andrade Library, in the center of São Paulo.
