More than 10 years later and it is still not known for sure what happened to the plane carrying more than 230 people
The passengers of flight MH370 were never found and no one has any idea what exactly happened to the plane, but everyone on board was declared legally dead.
Now, a Beijing court has ordered Malaysia Airlines to pay more than 340,000 euros to the families of eight of the passengers who were on board the flight that made the connection between Kuala Lumpur and the capital of China, and which disappeared without a trace in 2014.
The calculation is easy: there are 2.9 million yuan (about 343 thousand euros) to pay for funeral expenses and emotional damage caused to families, according to the court.
A bill that is valid for eight passengers, as the remaining cases are at different stages: 23 remain pending and in 47 others agreements were reached or the complaints were withdrawn.
Bad news for Malaysia Airlines that coincides with the resumption of searches. The Malaysian government announced that operations would resume on December 30th of this year, trying to put an end to a mystery that was already worth series.
From what little is known about the flight, the commander on duty, Zaharie Ahmad Shah, communicated his position as he passed through Vietnam’s airspace, around 40 minutes after takeoff.
The intercom stopped working shortly afterwards and air traffic control lost track of the plane, with the last known movement being a left turn near peninsular Malaysia.
Although there are no closed theories, investigators believe that the plane crashed in the Indian Ocean, near Australia.
Some parts of the plane carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members have since surfaced, but the mystery of the cause of the accident continues.
