PL meets this Tuesday to discuss Flávio Bolsonaro’s candidacy

The Liberal Party meets with all state directors, this Tuesday morning (9), to officially announce Flávio Bolsonaro’s candidacy for the presidential race in 2026. Later, another meeting will be held to discuss ways to make the name viable.

Last night, the leader of the PL in the Senate, Rogério Marinho, and Flávio met with leaders of other parties to discuss the candidacy. After the meeting, Marinho stated that the senator’s candidacy ‘is for real’ and that allied parties will have time to ‘mature’ Flávio’s name and decide on possible support for the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro in next year’s election.

“Both Ciro and Rueda, who today represent a federation, listened, were receptive and will talk to their parties to make a decision,” Marinho told the journalists present.

“We have the right to define the name that will symbolize the continuity of this movement that Jair Bolsonaro inaugurated. It is his right to choose who is preferred to be nominated in a situation in which he cannot compete, and it is the right of other parties to put forward their names”, Flávio highlighted to the newspaper. “Now I’m forced to go with the other parties because they think it’s better, because ‘research a, b or c’? No. So the scenario is set”, he reinforced.

HAS Sheetthe senator also clarified the previous statement, that: Jair Bolsonaro free and at the polls. Flávio stated that he does not intend to continue “talking stories” about the approval of the amnesty, which he considers insufficient, and that his candidacy is irreversible, even without the support of Centrão parties.

Regarding the dispute, the senator added that he has an advantage over the other pre-candidates for carrying the blood and surname of Jair Bolsonaro, but he positions himself as a “moderate” version of his father.
