Another extremely dangerous train incident between Liptovský Hrádek and Liptovský Mikuláš is just another proof of the disintegration of the functioning of the state under the leadership of the current government. This was announced by the chairman of the opposition Progressive Slovakia (PS), Michal Šimečka. According to him, Minister of Transport Jozef Ráž (Smer-SD nominee) must therefore resign immediately.
- In the train incident, the trains stopped only 20 meters apart.
- The incident caused criticism of the Minister of Transport Jozef Ráž.
- Michal Šimečka demands his immediate resignation.
- Member of Parliament Ján Hargaš claims that the adopted measures are not working.
- According to the opposition, the situation on the railways is critical.
“This is terrifying. The trains stopped maybe 20 meters apart. Slovakia is practically falling apart under Fico’s government. Minister Ráž must resign immediately. Every day, thousands of people risk their lives here for something as banal as traveling by train.” said Simečka.
According to Ján Hargaš, a member of the National People’s Republic of Slovakia for PS, this is clear evidence that Minister Ráž cannot handle the situation and that the measures taken are not working. “After 14 years of Fico’s rule, the railways are in such a state that people are actually afraid to get on the train. And we are expecting huge transfers across the country for the Christmas holidays. How long does Robert Fico (Smer-SD) and Ráž want to risk people’s lives? If Hlas still has any weight in the coalition, he will still insist on Ráž’s appeal today.” concluded Hargaš.
